MUDBRICK MOTLEY
(Amateur Theatre Group
Our Mission Statement: "To stimulate interest in and create opportunities for, participation in all aspects of theatrical performance in our community".
Our long term objective is to build and manage a theatre dedicated to the performing arts for the Heathcote Community.
We meet at both private homes and the McIvor Neighbourhood House, from which we run our amateur theatre and play-reading group. We have Membership with the Vic. Drama League from whom we hire scripts. All our personnel are unpaid volunteers.
Since our formation in 2004, through our submissions, we have attracted funding from C.O.G.B.; Perserverance Corporation Fosterville and AGD Operations P/L Costerfield.
We have used this funding to mount productions annually from 2005 to 2008 and to purchase equipment such as a lighting board, stage lights, sound equipment, and materials for set building. We also use funding for advertising and other publicity and to create, purchase and hire costumes, stage scenery, paint and props.
We charge a small annual membership fee and this, along with ticket sales and raffles, will assist our aim to become independent of outside funding and, in the long term, to be self-sufficient enough to contribute towards building a community based theatre which would benefit not only Mudbrick Motley but the entire Heathcote Community.
If you have an interest in theatrical performance, entertaining local groups, play reading evenings or learning backstage and technical skills, set building and costume production, you would be very welcome to join our group which is open to adults of any age and children over the age of seven. Family groups are encouraged.

HEATHCOTE & DISTRICT COMMUNITY PLAN
The Heathcote & District district community have written their own Community Plan, providing the words, ideas and visions for the future of their district.
A number of activities were held where Heathcote residents were encouraged to have their say. These included a survey and a visioning workshop and other activities that the Heathcote community came up with especially including involvement from the young people in the district.
The results have been summarised by a group of community members who have also written the community plan. You can download the Heathcote & District Community Plan by clicking on the link below.
For enquiries regarding the Community Plan please contact Rene Laan (03) 5433 3438 or 0448 406 324 .
