Kept secure for many years for Defence purposes, the Villa will once again allow the public in to tour this magnificent home.
One of Australia's wealthiest mining magnates, George Lansell made his wealth from the New Chum reef and built his mansion on the top of it.

2024 HIGH TEA & TOURS
Be welcomed by our harpist as you enter the beautiful Fortuna Villa. Traditional High Tea is served with a selection of delicious cakes, scones, sandwiches and savoury treats. Enjoy High Tea with Harriet Teas, a Barista Veneziano Coffee or a glass of champagne, beer or wine.

Then join us for a roaming tour of the Villa and finish off with a wander around the lake.

Duration approximately 2.5 hours. Please ensure you arrive on time to allow you to fully enjoy the experience.

Adult - $95
Pensioners - $85 please select concession ticket type.

Please note that, though the property is fully restored there is no disabled access. The tour will include stairs and uneven surfaces.

Directions

From the Calder Highway (Melbourne) turn left into Oak Street (at Caltex Service Station). Follow the road around to the next traffic lights, go straight through and continue around the bend then travel 1km up the hill. Turn right into Chum Street, keep driving until you reach the roundabout, take the second exit, our entrance is the next driveway on the left. From the North (Midland Highway) travel through the centre of town past the Alexander Fountain and turn right into Don Street (Beechworth Bakery on the corner). At the next set of traffic lights turn left into Barnard Street. Barnard Street continues into Chum Street. We are located on the right side across from Bendigo Day Surgery.
Plenty of car parking available on site.
