Peregrine Ridge 2005 Sparkling Shiraz Late Disgorge won the Best Sparkling Red trophy at the Australian Sparkling Wine Show this October.
The wine was a clear winner in strong company, with all 7 judges awarding Gold and the wine finished well ahead on point scores.
The expert judging panel included:
•John Ellis (Head judge – Hanging Rock Chief winemaker & CEO)
•Ian McKenzie (Seppelts chief sparkling winemaker)
•Tony Jordan (former Chandon chief winemaker)
•Ed Carr (Hardys/Arras)
Peregrine Ridge co-owner Graeme Quigley said "the class was very strong and full of names that would be instantly recognisable as classy sparkling red wines. Chief Judge John Ellis said that you wouldn't see a stronger group of sparkling wines (both reds and whites across the 5 classes) anywhere in Australia, and possibly the world, making the show a real treat to participate in."
"We also won Top Gold for our NV Sparkling Shiraz at the Australian Small Winemakers Show in October", added Graeme.
