Kennington Reservoir and Strathdale Park
Enjoy fishing at Kennington Reservoir, take a walk in the surrounding by bushland or a picnic by the reservoir. Nearby Strathdale Park features a fantastic playground for kids.
Kennington Reservoir is near the corner of Reservoir Road and Condon Street, Strathdale (Bendigo), close to Strath Village.
Loddon River
About half an hour's drive to Bendigo's west is the Loddon River, in a region famous for its vineyards, farming land and olive plantations.
Originating near Trentham, the Loddon River flows into both Cairn Curran and Laanecoorie Reservoirs, both popular for water sports. The river passes through Newstead, Bridgewater on Loddon, Newbridge and Kerang then flows into the Murray River at Swan Hill.

Campaspe River
About half an hour's drive to Bendigo's east lies the Campaspe River. Originating near Kyneton and Woodend, the Campaspe flows passes through the township of Redesdale into Lake Eppalock, then through Axedale, Rochester and Elmore, and into the Murray River close to Echuca.
The area covered by the Campaspe River around Lake Eppalock formed part of the Burke and Wills expedition route in the 1860s.

Laanecoorie Reservoir is a popular boating and camping area about 30 minutes drive to Bendigo's west just off the Bendigo-Maryborough Road.
