Burke and Wills

In 1860 explorers Robert O’Hara Burke and William John Wills set out with the intention of crossing Australia from Melbourne to the Gulf of Carpentaria.  Their path took them nearby to Heathcote and in memory of their endeavour a Burke and Wills Track has been established.
