Tooborac Rabbit Ramble Meets Practiculture Picnic

This community event is held at the Tooborac Hall (on the Northern Hwy) and it is where you get to show off your culinary prowess. Judged by a panel of rabbit connoisseurs, entries are scored on presentation, taste, texture and imagination (the X factor) with the winners receiving an engraved chef's knife (home-cook category) and a locally made bread board (professional category).

Entries must be made from wild rabbit (not farmed).Entrants should bring any pots, pans or equipment they may require to cook/heat up their dish and whatever props, garnish, accompaniments required to finish your dish ready for judging.  Basic kitchen facilities include a domestic oven and stove top, a microwave and an electric outside barbecue are available.  Entries are required to cook enough for six people - and after the judging, people will be able to sample the dishes.

Judging starts at 10am .

There are two categories in which to enter: home cook (general entry) and professional (previous winners and chefs).  Dishes are scored out of 40 points: 10/presentation, 10/aroma and taste, 10/texture and 10/X factor.

While cooking and judging is occurring - you can share in the workshops and fun of the Practiculture Picnic.
