There’s magic happening right now in the wine barrels throughout the Bendigo region.
Harvest is over, grapes have been crushed and fermented. But that’s just the beginning of the winemaking process. In cellars and barrel halls right now winemakers are observing the shared relationship between wine, oak and the atmosphere.
On the weekend of July 4 and 5 you get to visit barrel halls throughout the Bendigo region and indulge in wine barrel alchemy. You will meet the winemakers and learn more about the mystery and romance of winemaking.
Simply ring one of the participating wineries – where you’d like to start – and sign up for a barrel tasting session on that weekend. Tasting sessions will be conducted at 11am, 1pm and 3pm at each winery. Wineries will assist with any forward bookings. There is no cost to attend.
Like eating cherries from the tree or bread just out of the oven, Barrel Tasting weekend offers the chance to taste wine right from the source. Don't miss this unique opportunity to receive a sneak preview of wines that will find their way into bottles over the coming year.
And if you fall in love with a certain drop, be sure to check with the winemaker about a pre-release purchase at a special price.
