Katie Kim is originally from South Korea, arriving in Australia in 1997. She is trained with flute under tutlage of Simo Haantera at Queensland Conservatorium of Music, completing Bachelor of Music in 2000. Recently she completed Bachelor of Music Honours at Monash University and concentrated more on 20th century & contemporary repertoires with Peter Sheridan. Apart from performance component, her research paper was concerned with conceptualizing post/modern music based on French philosopher, Jean Francois Lyotard's ideas on postmodernism. Katie is a mother of four daughters and resident of Heathcote.

 

Nona Berter has graduated from Moscow Gnessin Academy of Music where she studied with world famous Alexander Satz. Prior to that she studied music in Ukraine for 12 years. Nona has been living in Australia for 27 years. She previously worked at Victorian College of Arts, MacRobertson Girls High School and a founding member of music department at Aitken College. Currently she is working as an accompanist and teaching full time at her private studio, Bentleigh School of Piano. 

Bookings are essential.  Enjoy & celebrate happy spring music played by two talented conservatorium trained musicians.  Katie is a Heathcote resident and with her friend Nona would love to introduce you to the world of classical music.  Children most welcome and entry is free if under 14 years.  Pickup can be arranged in Heathcote for those who are unable to travel to and from the venue
