History
This unique national heritage-listed bridge was constructed from salvaged iron from a shipwreck in Port Phillip Bay in order to provide a mail route and carriageway for miners, stock, and carriages. It is now a vital access route between Heathcote, Bendigo and Kyneton, and also an important link between Redesdale and Mia Mia. Recent stress tests show that the bridge bears more than 220 tonnes, which proves its endurance into modern times.

‘Sesquicecentary’ Quilt Project

The large, colourful, three-panelled commemorative quilt depicts Redesdale, Mia Mia and the school now and in the past. It has been a two-year cooperative project celebrating the importance of the bridge to local communities.
