The vineyard is set amongst the picturesque rolling hills of the Coliban River
valley, at the southern end of the Heathcote wine region. The site was carefully
chosen for its volcanic soil and climate, which is ideal for fully ripening fruit
to produce wines of intense colour, flavour and aroma.
Established by Greg & Helen Miles in 1997, with 4 hectares under vine, plantings include Cabernet sauvignon, Merlot and Shiraz . All wines are estate grown, produced and bottled using traditional methods with a passion for excellence.
Award winning wines have been produced since 2001. The 2002 Cabernet Merlot, was awarded a gold medal and the Frangos & Frangos Trophy for "The best Cabernet or Cabernet blend" at the 2003 Daylesford Wine Show.
James Halliday gave the winery a 5 star rating for the 2004 vintage which included Cabernet sauvignon, Cabernet Merlot, Merlot & Shiraz. The 2004 Shiraz also received a gold medal & trophy for "the Best Wine in Show" at the Kyneton wine show judged by John Ellis.
The 2005 Shiraz was written up by Gourmet Traveller Wine April 2007 in a feature of the best of the Heathcote wines. The 2005 wines are currently available by mail order or at the cellar door.
The 2006 vintage will be released at the Heathcote Wine & Food Festival in October. Cellar door visitors welcome on weekends.
