Gerry and Geraldine McHarg established their vineyard in 1997 overlooking Lake
Cooper.
We are now producing quality wines that have distinctive "Heathcote" characteristics.
The vineyard area is 30 hectares growing Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Chardonnay and Verdelho.The soil is deep well drained red Cambrian earth. Geologists inform us the soil is around 100 million years old.
Our Winemaker - Peter Kelliher Peter has a science degree from Melbourne University and 14 years winemaking experience. For his Ada River label he has produced ranges of wine from Gippsland, Yarra Valley and Heathcote regions. James Halliday has recently rated Ada River as one of the best produces of Heathcote Shiraz.
