Chinese Historical Walk

Tickets Bendigo

Description

The Bendigo Chinese Historical Walking Tour encompasses the 150 year heritage of the Bridge Street Chinatown and its associated community over the course of a 1 hour guided tour.

This outdoor walk will include such sites as the historic Bendigo Chinese Association building, the grand Victorian residences built for Chinese traditional medicine practitioner James Lamsey, as well as the story of the culturally important Pomelo tree, the history behind Bendigo’s largely forgotten first cemetery, and the changing fortunes of the Chinatown precinct itself over the decades.

Suitable for all ages. This is an outdoor walking tour. Please dress appropriately for the weather and bring water with you if required.

Session duration is 60 minutes.
