Join us on the awe-inspiring Kooyoora Cultural Tour and discover the rich history and natural wonders of the 'Mountain of Light.'
Beginning with a traditional Welcome to Country Smoking Ceremony, our expert Djaara guides take you on a journey through lush landscapes, ancient rock art forms, and magnificent formations carved by nature over millennia.

End Location:Kooyoora State Park

Tour Accessibility

Tour participants must be able to walk comfortably for two hours and unassisted for a minimum of half an hour over uneven ground. Comfortable footwear is essential. Rest stops are available along the tour path.

Larni Garingilang Walking Tour

Step into Larni Garingilang — the “Home of Growth” — and walk alongside Djaara (Dja Dja Wurrung) Traditional Owners through the Bendigo Botanic Gardens, a significant Cultural landscape rich in native plant life.
Discover how native plants have long been used by Djaara people for food, medicine, tools, and ceremony. Learn how seasonal changes guide what is gathered, prepared, and shared, and how these practices continue to support cultural knowledge, health, and community today. This immersive walking tour invites you to engage your senses—smelling, touching, and observing native species with ancient stories and enduring purpose.
The Larni Garingilang Tour offers a meaningful connection to Djandak (Dja Dja Wurrung Country), leaving you with a deeper understanding of Djaara values and the living knowledge woven through the land.
