Langley Estate, Bendigo is an iconic Australian Federation-era estate on 2.5 acres of beautifully landscaped gardens in Victoria's spectacular and historic Goldfields region. 90 minutes from Melbourne Airport, the 1904 Langley Hall mansion is 'arguably Bendigo and the surrounding district's grandest residential property and one of the city's most admired historic landmarks.'
Description
Guests stay in suites in Langley Hall, one of the most beautiful Federation-era mansions in Australia, only five minutes up the Midland Highway (A300) from Pall Mall in the heart of Bendigo's historic CBD.
Surrounded by 2.5 acres of magnificent gardens, Langley Hall is a treasured example of an Australian stately home in the uniquely Australian 'Federation' architectural style. It exudes the well-known 'Langley Magic' that enchanting atmosphere only relaxing spaces within superbly designed surroundings can give.
Upon entering the large Entrance Hall, guests immediately enjoy the grandeur and generous proportions of this historic property, which is also a welcoming and character-filled home. Guests can also relax and unwind in the charming downstairs Drawing Room surrounded by magnificent antique furniture including a spectacular sideboard made for the 1880 Melbourne International Exhibition.
Guests also delight in the fact that Langley Hall remains intact on its grand estate surrounded by extensive gardens complete with fountains and sun-drenched courtyards. These provide the opportunity for guests to enjoy areas of quiet relaxation, just as they were designed to do in 1904. There's even a giant chess set and, conveniently, ample onsite parking!
Given the historic nature of Langley Hall and the surrounding Estate together with the large staircases, antique furniture and original artwork we are, unfortunately, unable to cater for children or infants.
Please note that all buildings on the Langley Estate - over 50 rooms across Langley Hall, Langley Manor and the Lauriston Chapel - are heated and air-conditioned to ensure your personal comfort all year round!

Directions
Langley Estate is conveniently located only five minutes straight up the Midland Highway (A300) from Pall Mall in the heart of Bendigo's historic CBD.
The Midland Highway is called Napier Street in White Hills; the same highway is called Pall Mall in the very centre of Bendigo.
If you are using a navigation system, please make sure the '484 Napier Street' you select is in White Hills. There is another 484 Napier Street in Bendigo, in the suburb of Eaglehawk and, unless you would like to join Banjo Paterson's famed Mulga Bill from Eaglehawk, please have White Hills selected!

The Beebe Suite is a large upstairs suite with a king-sized bed and ensuite with shower. Designed as a main bedroom in 1904, this north-facing suite also contains a sofa and desk together with tea and coffee-making facilities and a bar fridge. As with all rooms at Langley, the suite is heated and air-conditioned. The suite is named for John Beebe (1866-1936) who, in partnership with William Vahland, was one of the architects of Langley Hall. Langley Hall was the Vahland-Beebe architectural partnerships largest commission.
Chapel Suite

The Chapel Suite is a large upstairs suite with a queen-sized bed and ensuite with shower. Designed as a north-facing bedroom in 1904, the ensuite is within a charming crenelated tower facing across to the Chapel. The suite also contains a sofa and desk together with tea and coffee-making facilities and a bar fridge. As with all rooms at Langley, the suite is heated and air-conditioned. The Chapel Suite is named for the view from its windows across to the estate’s 1873 ‘Carpenter Gothic’ Lauriston Chapel.

Designed as the main formal bedroom in 1904, the room features a beautiful box bay window complete with chequerboard stained glass and direct access to the upstairs verandah. The suite also includes tea and coffee-making facilities and a bar fridge. As with all rooms at Langley, the suite is heated and air-conditioned. The suite is named for Henry Archdall Langley (1840-1906) who, with his family, were the first occupants of Langley Hall.
Provincial Suite

The Provincial Suite, an upstairs suite in the Bayne Wing, has a queen-sized bed and private living area. Your ensuite, directly across your private hallway, has a large shower. As with all rooms at Langley, the suite is heated and air-conditioned. The Provincial Suite also has an additional bedroom, with a single bed, available for an extra charge. This can be used for a third guest, or if you and your travelling partner require separate beds. If you require the additional bedroom, even if there are only two adults staying with us, please select ‘3 adults’ and the additional charge will be automatically added. Alternatively, you can simply email Simone and advise accordingly.

The Vahland Suite is a north-facing upstairs suite with a queen-sized bed. This suite has a private bathroom located immediately next to the suite: please note it is not a bathroom ‘en suite’ as such. Although your private bathroom is not shared with other guests, you will need to ‘step out’ of your bedroom briefly to access the bathroom literally next to your room. The suite also contains a comfortable couch, tea and coffee-making facilities and a bar fridge. As with all rooms at Langley, the suite is heated and air-conditioned. The suite is named for the ‘premier architect of the Victorian goldfields’: William Vahland (1828–1915) who, in partnership with John Beebe, was one of the architects of Langley Hall. Langley Hall was the Vahland-Beebe architectural partnerships largest commission. Some guests may remember the Vahland Suite as the Peppercorn Suite, as the large north-facing window looks out over the former site of a large Peppercorn Tree.

If you cancel your booking more than 48 hours before arrival you will receive a full refund of monies paid. No refund is provided if you cancel within 48 hours of arrival or in the case of a no show. Travel insurance is highly recommended. Cancellations due to COVID are looked at on an individual basis at the discretion of the owners.
