O'Dwyer paints to attain human insight and wonderment into the self and the subconscious mind, in this emerges perceptions into ourselves, each other and the world that surrounds us.

This series of works examine figures and landscapes which do not intend to represent life, but rather, suggest insight into the mystery that lies beneath the human presence. Partly real and partly imagined forms materialise from a fusion of daily encounter and media imagery. These works act as experiments into modern aesthetics, the materiality painting practice and human matter.

Rachael O’Dwyer is an emerging Artist and Educator interested in the relationship between art and psychology, focusing on contemporary portraiture now. Her imagery is suggestive of a space whereby perceptions upon ourselves, each other and the world that surrounds are us are revealed and rendered as moving between reality and dream scape. O’Dwyer's art draws attention to links between human interactions and otherworldly insights, through a modern play on aesthetics the everyday combines with the extraordinary.
