Camp Hill Historic Precinct (Shortlisted nominee in the inaugural Bendigo Heritage Awards).
The Heathcote Historic Lockup and Police Residence museums areopen to the public each Wednesday.
In the 1853 Gold rush, the government set up a tent based camp. Extensive building started including police barracks, gold office, courthouse, communications, lockup, stables, store rooms and living quarters. The Lockup and Police Residence remain and highlight Heathcote’s early history displaying relics and artefacts.
TIME: 10am - 2pm.
